THE PRESIDENT OF 

COPA LATINA SOCCER LEAGUE™

 

"I started this league in 1984 with a great friend of mine in Boynton Beach, FL at Caloosa Park. There was really no soccer leagues in South Florida, I seen that there was so much latin communites that wanted to play the game. So me and my friend decided to start the league. I was a soccer player at the time. I had to find a way to play and manage the league at the same time but I couldnt. There was to much to do with the league. My friend decided to step down as manager of the league. I took over that same year and started to see how I could expand and make the league better. We started off with only 8 Teams & continued to grow each and every season. As, I started to notice many people enjoyed the game. Every year the league grew and I couldnt be happier for the league. I enjoyed being the President of the League. As, a child I always dreamed of becoming a Professional soccer player but My dream wasn't going to happen. I had to come to United States to help my family out financinally. So being part of a big event in soccer was my 2nd dream & here I was living it. Till this day my league "OUR LEAGUE" continues to grow and achieve success every year & get known around Florida. I cant be any happier to still be part of something I always dreamed of doing. 29 Years and continuing till this day."- Sr.Abel Riquelme
